Multibanking API

Use Multibanking APIs to enable third party access to users’ account data

Multibanking: The use case for Swiss banks

Innovative technologies for Open Finance require banks to open up their back-end systems via APIs so that third parties (TP) can access users’ account data. Unlike the EU with PSD2, Switzerland is taking a market-driven approach to technical standards: this also applies to multibanking applications.

ndgit offers an end-to-end solution that allows Swiss banks to open up to Multibanking APIs as well as other use cases in a short time, while meeting all compliance regulations as well as security requirements. The ndgit platform is modular and can serve as a basis for future Multibanking and Open Finance APIs.

Get ready for the multibanking of the future

ndgit provides all the necessary components for participation in Open Finance and Multibanking in particular. The ndgit solution has open APIs according to the common API standard defined by SFTI and offers a high level of security through sophisticated features such as BYOI (Bring Your Own Identity), Consent Management and TPP Management. For fast time-to-market and simplified TPP integration, ndgit Additionally offers a standard connector to SIX bLink as an option.

The ndgit solution can be operated on-premises or optionally as Software as a Service in a Swiss data center. The software has a modular structure and can thus be integrated into the technology already available on the customer side.

  • Pre-implemented end-to-end solutions for multibanking in Switzerland, extensible for further use cases like Open Banking, or Open Wealth (via ready-to-integrate API adapters).

  • Trusted API security based on recognized modern standards (like OAuth2, OIDC, FAPI)

  • Resource efficient, with ready-to-integrate, future-proof product

  • Integration support by highly experienced API and security experts

  • Reusable infrastructure for exposing, securing and managing future Open API use cases and solving key recurring requirements (such as developer XP, support channels)

Common Account APIs based on the SFTI API standard.

Third party management – with registration, authentication and authorization (bLink: third party registry integration).

Consent management for account access use cases: end-user controlled resource authorization via Consent User Interface based on multi-factor authentication (strong customer authentication, SCA)

Standardized, secure API communication (based on modern standards such as OAuth2, OIDC, FAPI) (bLink: security requirements met by bLink)

ndgit is an expert for multibanking

Already more than 30 of Europe’s leading banks implement the regulatory requirements efficiently and securely according to the country-specific standards with ndgit’s PSD2 complete solution. Hypothekarbank Lenzburg AG has already joined our customer base in Switzerland.

Our module for the provision of already pre-implemented and continuously updated account access APIs is based on the SFTI Common API standard. In addition, a number of technical modules ensure that the latest level of security (and bLink compliance) for third-party access and resource authorization is met at all times. Regardless of whether a bank implements the interfaces independently or integrates available API adapters, ndgit’s solution minimizes the required implementation complexity.

Hypothekarbank Lenzburg AG is one of the first of currently 40 Swiss banks that have signed the “Memorandum of Understanding” to introduce multibanking for its customers. The bank is once again relying on the open finance platform from ndgit.

“From our many years of experience with ndgit, we know that we can roll out even complex API solutions efficiently and quickly with their standard products.”
