Funding partner DVH Ventures recently interviewed ndgit’s founders, Oliver Dlugosch and Florian Pahl, to get a quick snapshot of the business and discover what sparked its creation and success. Here’s what they found out:
Briefly describe your business.
ndgit is the backbone of digital banking. We’re Europe’s leading provider of API Platform, enabling banks and insurance companies to create networked ecosystems in order to expose or consume API based services, through digital ‘marketplaces’ and ‘banking as a service’.
What makes you special?
Extremely technology-driven, we’re highly-sought after as a partner by leading banks. We create the foundation for digital networked banking services and are able to help finance companies expand their complex IT architecture. We succeed because of our highly-skilled team, which has on average more than seven years of hands-on experience integrating banking APIs.
What drives you to do what you do?
We love banking’s exciting environment. With PSD2 and Open Banking, the whole market is changing fast, everything is going digital and the ecosystem is exploding. With ndgit we have the opportunity to do something that has strategic relevance, and which is actively shaping services today and in the future.
What was the trigger for setting up your business?
We both come from successful companies in banking and were aware of the paradigm shifts taking place in the industry. We wanted to create unique propositions but had become frustrated over the long timescales required for in-house innovation. It was clear that something had to change. With ndgit, we can move fast and be a catalyst and an accelerator for transformation.
What makes you especially proud?
Within a very short time of establishing the business, we were able to win over 30 well-known banks as clients, including names such as UBS and the Austrian BAWAG. This was only possible because of our large, highly-skilled and experienced team – we’re very proud of them.
Why should people work for you?
We solve strategic projects for large banks with exciting technology that delivers immediate value to our customers. Our work makes a difference for them – it matters!
What is your goal for the next 3-5 years?
We want to further internationalize our business, continuing the extremely rapid growth of recent years. We also want to carry on expanding our solution as the technical backbone for banks, insurance companies, and FinTechs and setting the standard for Open Banking.
